Friday I made the last minute decision to help the "college group" that was in for the weekend with their dinner and bible study at the Dustin Arms. As it turned out the group was less of a college group and more of a group of 1 to 2 year interns that are with City Church in Rancho Bernardo. Their program is not unlike HSE though I did notice that they were a bit more charismatic and we'll call it polished than HSE. I wish I had brought my camera they laid hands on Nick and his wife (it was the first time I had met her) as well as on Isaac, Nick's godson, and Anthony, the assistant manager. I thoroughly enjoyed the time even if no one stayed for the bible study except for Nick and his wife and Isaac.
On Saturday a group of us, Dawn Souder, John Singletary, Mindy & Rochelle, Anthony Williams and I all went to the Harbor Police Station to give the officers food. Dawn was babysitting a girl named Ella. She and her class had made a bunch of notes for the officers. They really seemed to enjoy it especially since the officers coming off of patrol had dealt with evacuating the airport that day. It was fun getting to talk to them a bit about school and what they see around town.
Ella told her story about how she broke her wrist almost 20 times.
