Wednesday & Thursday

Wednesday I went in to Park Chapel and helped clean up the church a bit. I sorted some clothing for the backpack ministry and to give away. I sat at the front desk for a while to make sure a pastor from the Rock was able to get in to get his pizzas and water for FCA. Pete was in the office and I got to talk to him for a bit.

Thursday we had a meeting, Melissa, Robert and I were the only ones able to make it. Pete gave us a few more opportunities to serve and invited us to come to church and see what the community is like. After our meeting we went to San Diego High School for their FCA. Pete and Nate want to start a second club at SDHS because the majority of students in the one they have now are from the International School or are in Football. They figure if they have a second club at the same time in 2 different locations or have two totally different clubs they would be able to reach more students.

In the afternoon Robert, Anthony and I went to Perkins Elementary. The students played ultimate ball again but this time we split up the students by grades so that we had more equal competition. I helped a couple of students with math and spelling. Anthony and I left to go to Park Chapel to help at the homeless dinner. We had heard that there would be fewer people to help this week so we thought we would be best used there. Kristen joined us and we ran into James again and Tony, a guy from the Rescue Mission that I met during the last Week of Prayer and Fasting. All of us served the guests their plates and dessert and then we helped clean up. There were several families and young children this week.
